Privacy policy
Your information, held with care
Effective July 30, 2026 · The Woven Body, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The Woven Body ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through thewovenbody.com, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
When you buy something: your name, email address, payment confirmation, and, for physical products such as ritual boxes, your shipping address. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our website or our records. Stripe’s handling of your data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
When you contact us or book: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to share in your message. Inquiry forms on this site open your own email app; nothing is stored on the website itself.
When you browse: our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability. Your shopping cart is stored only in your own browser, not on our servers. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not use analytics cookies.
How we use it
Only to serve you: fulfilling and shipping orders, scheduling and holding sessions, replying to your messages, sending receipts, and meeting legal requirements such as tax records. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the website work: Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting), our email provider (for messages sent to hello@thewovenbody.com), and our scheduling provider when you book a time. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States); where they do, your information is protected by their own safeguards and agreements.
Health information
Anything you share with Shannon about your health or wellbeing, before, during, or after a session, is treated as confidential and is never shared without your consent, except where the law requires it.
Keeping and protecting it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, financial records for tax purposes), then delete it. Our website is served entirely over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Your choices
You may ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Write to hello@thewovenbody.com and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
Questions are always welcome: hello@thewovenbody.com
